Capture the sublime, honest sound of the drum kit

DPA’s selection of mics for the drum kit is designed specifically to put the sound engineer in control of the sound. By starting with the clear, true sound of the entire kit, the engineer has the best starting point to shape the sound wanted for the situation. These mics guarantee a natural and precise sound reproduction of the entire kit. The specific mic placements prevent artefacts, bleed and other shadowing effects.

      • Natural and precise sound reproduction of the entire kit
      • A clean slate to convey the wanted “mood” to the audience
      • Specific mic placements prevent artefacts, bleed and other shadowing effects
      • Picks up the sound like the drummer hears his kit, thus no or minimum EQ is needed

      2012 Compact Cardioid Microphone

An all-around generalist pencil mic that guarantees excellent results on any instrument on a live stage.

      • Durable, reinforced construction

      • Excellent transient response

      • Uniform cardioid directionality

      • Outstanding SPL handling

      • Natural and precise sound reproduction

The 2012 can be used as an all-around microphone in applications where dynamic microphones are typically used. In fact, as a condenser mic, it has several advantages over its dynamic counterparts:

      • It can capture higher frequencies, has an extended frequency range and a flat frequency response – all in a smaller form factor

      • It can cope with both high SPLs as well as capture very delicate sounds, so it works well on many different instruments

      • It has a far better transient response than any dynamic microphone, which allows it to pick up the most delicate sound with tremendous accuracy

      2015 Compact Wide Cardioid Microphone

A wide cardioid overhead microphone for ambient pick up of a drum kit or other instrument groups. The 2015 can be positioned close to the drum kit (i.e., over the cymbals) and still capture sound evenly across the entire drum kit. This closer position results in stronger signal from the drum kit and therefore less bleed from the stage.

      • Durable, reinforced construction

      • Uniform wide cardioid directionality

      • Spacious sound due to a wide cardioid pick-up pattern

      • Natural and precise sound reproduction

      • Compact design for unobtrusive placement on stage

      4055 Kick Drum Microphone

A flexible, professional mic that captures the power and true sound of the kick drum, when placed inside or outside the drum. The 4055 is one of the only kick drum mics that is not sonically pre-tailored to fit a traditional sound in a specific genre. Its low frequency response and dynamics are superb and result in a tight, natural, well-defined sound - the best low-end with detailed mids and highs.

      • Picks up the clear, true sound of the kick drum

      • Flat frequency response so you can shape the sound your way

      • Built tough to withstand rough use on the live stage

      • Asymmetric physical design for easy placement inside or outside

      4099 Instrument Microphone

The 4099 perfectly captures the booming sounds of drums and percussion instruments. The mic can be easily positioned to fit diverse types of drums and excel on the snare, toms and hi-hats. The flexible gooseneck can be positioned at different angles to allow a variety of sound nuances. The mic is elegant, lightweight, unobtrusive and designed to stay out of the way during performance.

      • Handles high SPLs

      • Superior gain-before-feedback

      • Flexible and easy mounting

      • Robust and durable
